that keeps the industry in an ice age. Oakley wanted to
crystallize sport performance in a look that takes to
the street, so whether you're out to thrill or chill,
you've got the best vision possible. Oakley started
with comfortably lightweight O MATTER® frame material,
gave it aggressive durability and sculptural attitude,
and matched it with optics that have to be experienced
to be believed. That's on top of a comfortable Three-Point
Fit that uses UNOBTAINIUM® components to increase
grip with sweat.
Even a small amount of glare can put performance on thin
ice, and when the sun bounces off flat surfaces, the reflected
light can be 10 times brighter. That's why places
with pavement, snow or water demand polarized lenses,
but most of the industry makes them with techniques that
create haze and optical distortion. Oakley utilize a liquid
infusion process that bonds at the molecular level to
achieve the clearest, sharpest polarized lenses possible.
They block glare with better than 99% efficiency, and
they come standard with ICE PICK™.
The lenses are enhanced with Oakley HYDROPHOBIC™,
a permanent smudge-resistant coating that repels skin
oils, lotions and dust with a slippery surface that prevents
water sheens from getting a foothold. The back side is
treated with a permanent anti-reflective coating, and
lens options include IRIDIUM® coatings to balance
and tune light transmission. HIGH DEFINITION OPTICS®
(HDO®) maximizes clarity while letting us contour
the lenses for a greater range of peripheral view. The
optical performance of HDO® is so precise, ICE PICK™
beats all ANSI Z87.1 standards for clarity. It also meets
ANSI standards for impact resistance, thanks to a lens
material called PLUTONITE® that offers the added benefit
of 100% UV filtering.
