Our website has been established since May 2000. We have been
established as a business since 1976, selling top branded footwear,
clothing & Oakley sunglasses.
We stock over 10,000 items & produce our website in-house.
This enables us to keep the online store up to date & to display
new ranges as soon as they are available.

How to place
your order
Ordering with James & James is
simple. Just surf our site, & when you find the style you
want to order, click the 'add to cart' button. You will then be
informed that the item has been added to your shopping cart. When
you have finished browsing, just click the 'view cart' button
& you will be shown the contents of your shopping cart. If
you are ready to order the goods in your cart, click 'proceed
to checkout', & you will then be taken to a secure payment
page where we will need to take your name, delivery address &
payment details. All prices shown are final purchase prices &
include UK VAT. Please note we do not give out customer details
to third parties under any circumstances..
If the goods you have ordered are in stock, we will despatch your
order on the day we receive payment for your order. (i.e. if you
pay by credit card over the internet before 3.00pm Monday to Friday,
we will despatch your order the same day).
If you experience problems ordering over
the internet, would like to check the availability of a product,or
would simply prefer to place your order over the telephone, you
may do so by calling us on 08453 471717 (UK Local Rate).
Availability
We endeavour to keep our site as up to
date as possible, & sizes displayed are available to order.
Occasionally an item may be out of stock & a delivery pending
from our supplier.
In this case we will contact you to see if you would like to wait
for the delivery or cancel your order.
If your order is out of stock with no possibility of obtaining
further stock, your credit/debit card will be refunded immediately.
If your size is not displayed, this means that the size is out
of stock & we are unable to obtain further
stock from our suppliers.
How to pay
for your order
You can pay by any major credit
card, by cheque/postal order, or by bank transfer.
Pay by credit card
If you decide to pay by credit card
you can do so by Secure server on our site, fax, phone or mail.
Details taken over our secure area are transmitted using 128bit
encryption. Orders are held encrypted on our server until they
are processed. It is our policy not to make any charge to your
credit card until your order is ready to ship.

We know that credit card security
is one of the main concerns for internet shoppers. In conjunction
with our partners at Swift Internet we use 1024 bit encryption
to ensure that your credit card details & other sensitive
information are kept secure. We will not share any information
provided by you (including payment details, name, address, telephone
number, or e-mail address) with any third party.
In addition to this we display our site certificate seal to assure
visitors our site is secure. To view our site certificate, please

Pay by cheque
If you decide to pay by cheque, the
delivery schedule of you order will depend on when we receive
the cheque & the time it takes to clear through our bank (usually
5 working days).
Pay by bank order
If you decide to pay by Bank Order,
we will send you an e-mail to confirm availability & invoice
total. You can then pay by bank order using the following details:

The delivery shedule for payment by bank order
is dependant on the time it takes the transfer to clear through
our bank (approx 3 days).

items
Whilst every effort is made to ensure
that our web site is up to date, it is sometimes possible that
the item ordered is out of stock.
Should any item ordered not be available for immediate delivery,
we will contact you by e-mail with the estimated delivery time.
You have the option to cancel your order at any time.

In stock orders placed before 3.00pm
Monday to Friday, will be despatched the same day.
Please note that orders placed after 3.00pm Monday to Friday will
not be despatched until the next business day. Orders placed on
Saturday, Sunday or Bank Holidays will be despatched on the next
business day.
Mainland UK orders will be delivered by Royal Mail (www.royalmail.com)
or FedEx carriers (www.fedex.com/gb/), Monday to Friday during
business hours 9am-5.30pm.
Delivery to Northern Ireland, Channel Islands & the Highlands
of Scotland may take 1 extra business day dependant on location
& the carrier. Unfortunately, this is beyond our control.
Please ensure that somebody is present at
the delivery address to accept the delivery. If nobody is present
to accept the delivery, the carrier will leave a calling card
with your parcel details. In this case, they will attempt delivery
on the following business day. If the carrier is unsuccessful
at delivering your parcel on the following business day, your
parcel will be returned to your local depot & the carrier
will need to be contacted by you to arrange a convenient time
for delivery. The carrier will leave your item with a neighbour
if it is more convenient. In this case, please contact us to make
these arrangements.
Overseas orders will be sent via a partner
of FedEx, by DHL or by Royal Mail Airmail.
Shortages
Any shortages in delivery must be reported within 48 hours of delivery (or by next business day).
Any shortages reported after this period cannot be entered into.
Free Delivery
Free delivery applies to ALL clothing
items & will be delivered on a standard service (within 3
days) by Royal Mail in the United Kingdom only. Next day delivery
is available on clothing at a flat rate charge of £5.00.
Selected footwear items are also available with free delivery.
Footwear items which qualify for free delivery are indicated on
their individual page.
Saturday Delivery
If you require Saturday delivery, please
contact us for a quote. Our carriers charge a premium for Saturday
delivery & this can vary depending on your location.
Deliveries will not be made under any
circumstances on any of the following days:
-Sundays.
-Bank Holiday Mondays.
-Good Friday.
-Christmas Day.
-Boxing Day.
-New Years Day.

Problems |
I
cannot access the secure payment page
If you are using our site from a work location, your systems administrator
may have placed a restriction on the viewing or accessing of secure
web pages.
Nothing happens when I "click for
details" on an item.
If you click on an item & do not see a box featuring an enlarged
picture & the details of the shoe, this may be due to a couple
of known issues:
You may have to enable Javascript on your web browser. There
are different methods of enabling Javascript depending on the
web browser you are using. To find out how to enable Javascript,
please contact the manufacturer of your browser.
If you have a "pop up killer" installed on your PC
or Mac, this may prevent the window with the product details from
opening. A pop up killer is a program which stops pop up advertising
windows from appearing at random when you are using the internet.
In order to view our site, you may have to change the settings
of this program or temporarily disable it. Please note we do not
use any third party advertising on our site.

Conditions of sale
All goods purchased from our site must be paid for in full before
goods are despatched. We do not operate a 'cash on delivery' service.
Delivery times quoted are per working day, & do not include
Saturday, Sunday, or UK bank holidays. For example: If you place
your order for next day delivery before 3.00pm on Friday, your
order will be delivered on Monday.
Exceptions of sale
All credit card orders are thoroughly checked, we will not despatch
any orders until we have verified the authenticity of the credit
card details submitted.
Orders
from outside the UK
We ship goods to all parts of the world, the delivery schedule
for items sent outside the UK is:
Europe: Approx 3-7 working days (2 working day EXPRESS service
available).
Rest of World: Approx 5-10 Working Days (3-4 working day EXPRESS
service available).
Sales
Tax Exemption
If you are ordering from a non EU member state country in Europe
(including the Channel Islands), or from anywhere outside Europe,
you are exempt from paying UK sales tax (V.A.T.). If the item
you have ordered is subject to UK sales tax (this does not include
steel toe industrial workwear), we will deduct the amount of sales
tax from the item before it is shipped (exemption does not apply
to postage).
Privacy Policy
Any personal information submitted to our company, whether it
be by telephone, fax or internet e-mail, will not under any circumstances
be shared or given to any third party company for the purposes
of mass mailing, advertising, or any other form of contact. James
& James Footwear Ltd will not use any information given by
you to make contact with you, except in the case of order confirmation,
advice of stock availability, or if you have subscribed to our
mailing list.

Returns
Procedure

Returning your purchase
Please return unsuitable / faulty items to us via the Post Office.
It is advisable, but not essential, to send the item by recorded
delivery.
Returns will be dealt with in the following way.
Unworn / Unsuitable Items
If you need to return your purchase because it does not fit, or
is unsuitable, please use the returns slip on the invoice which
is sent with your item, & send the item back to the address
below, stating the reason for returning the item(s), and whether
a replacement or a refund is required. The item must be returned
in original unworn condition, in it's original packaging, within
28 days of purchase (exceptions can be made in the case of Christmas
presents).
If a replacement is required, please ensure you state the Make,
Style, Colour & Size of the item you require in exchange.
Replacement items sent in the UK will be sent postage free (a
charge will be made for overseas items).
If a refund is required, please allow up to 7 working days (from
the date you return the item) for the refund to clear through
to your credit card account. Refunds will be made using the same
method used for the original purchase of the shoes. Please note
for security purposes, we can only refund the same credit card
which was used for the original transaction. Postage charges are
not refundable.
Faulty Items
In the unfortunate case of an item which has developed a fault
which has not been caused by misuse, within a year of purchase,
please return it to us for inspection.
Upon identification of a fault, we will refund any postage charge
incurred by the customer, & send a replacement or issue a
full refund.
